Evening all <3
Maybe the best sounds a little much when I’ve only been living here for 2,5 months, but I stilled made a good effort to try a lot of restaurants, and this place is really something else. It’s called Vanilla Black, and is located near Chancery lane tube station.
I been there 2 times – first with my boyfriend when we were here visiting my university in spring, and we were so overwhelmed by how good and innovative the food is. I have never tried any veggie (or other) food like that (and I’ve grown up in a foodie-family who loves to go out to eat!). Afterwards I’ve been there with my parents when they were in London on a short visit not long ago, and even though my expectations were a little bit too high because off how impressed I got last time, the food still managed to live off to them, and make me want more!!
Even my dad who is kind off an “anti-vegetarian”, or at least not the biggest believer in quality vegetarian food, was really amazed by the food.
The mentality off the restaurant is that they don’t care that much about being vegetarian, but is more interested in and fascinated with making innovative and delicious food without using meet. And without re-creating meet-dishes with the implementation off tofu or falafel (like a lot of restaurants do).
The result is that the vegetables and spices being the main ingredients in the dishes, and wauw they have soo much flavor in them. The place really needs to be tried, even though you’re a vegetarian or not. It’s not cheap, but not that bad either and compared to the experience I would happily have paid more (around 45 pounds for 3 courses, I think).
I can’t wait to go back there and I’ve decided that I have to (!) try all the dishes on the menu!
Talk to you again soon!
