So I’ve been writing about my love for food markets before, and that I’ve been discovering the Borough market in London – which is sooo awesome!! They have everything from fresh food stands with organic bread, jams, honey, oils, vegetables and so on and lots of street food as well. AND that best thing is that you get plenty of free-tasters when you walk by – at almost all of the stands!
Well, in my last post about the market I said I had to come back there and make a little picnic out of some of their amazing commodities – especially I couldn’t stop thinking about all of there delicious cheeses! I’ve always said that I could live of bread, cheese, olives and wine 😍 (but it probably wouldn’t be very healthy).
So I went there an afternoon, and even though the weather wasn’t great there is plenty of options to site (insight) at the market. When we walked around choosing what to get, we almost got full just from all the delicious tasters. There is both tasters just for everyone at the market – but especially if you look interested in buying something you’ll get tasters of everything you’re looking at 😀 – so you don’t buy anything you don’t like (really good service).
We ended up buying some different cheeses, bread, different kinds of stuffed olives, an aubergine dip and an amazing truffle-honey (meant to put on top off goat-cheese or other salty cheeses). The truffle honey and goat cheese tasted incredible (OMG) – the truffle honey was as expensive as the rest off the stuff together but definitely worth it! The honey is called tartufino and the cheese; cornes du diable – at Mons cheesemongers.
The market is paradise for truffel-lovers as well – they have everything with truffle!: honey, oils, pasta, mustard – you name it.
Ooh I just love to have good food-experiences and would everyday choose to spend my money on trying an amazing new restaurant/food market than going to the movies or something.
Have a nice evening all and talk to you again soon😘
